More than 40 people attended our America 250 Event! Thank you!

The Bellefonte Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution proudly joined the nation in celebrating America 250 with the dedication of a DAR-sponsored Revolutionary War Patriot Marker at the Potter Run Park, Potter Township, Spring Mills, Rt. 144 on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with celebratory cupcakes from local favorite Delectable Delights by Heather Luse.

This unique, 2-sided Patriot marker (one of only two like it in the world, the other is in Italy) will serve as a meaningful tribute to the brave men and women from the Penns Valley region who sacrificed their lives and fortunes to achieve American independence, 1775 – 1783. Penns Valley was significant as a frontier outpost, featuring three stockaded forts including Potter’s Fort, built by Brigadier General James Potter in 1777, Watson’s Fort, and Lower Fort.
Take time to visit the park and enjoy the marker. For more information contact the Bellefonte Chapter DAR at bellefontedar.org
